Paramount Skydance Will Cut Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Paramount Skydance will begin mass layoffs the week of 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 US jobs as part of a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August valued at $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are likely, with Paramount Skydance aiming to reveal full details in its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Previous updates had indicated the company aimed to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.

Until December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond on the matter.
